A Day in the Life of Debbie Korpesho

What do I actually do you may ask?

Well……..I’m the first point of contact for all visitors and staff to our floor. So smiles are paramount!  If you need to find someone, I’ll tell you where to go!  If you need to book a room, just ask me.  If you jam the copier, need the toner loaded or require paper, I’m your gal.  If you’re expecting a package or mail, want to book a talk at Rounds, need your password reset on your computer or phone, need your access card activated, locked yourself out of your office, need to hand in your WHMIS test or get your lab coat cleaned, want to volunteer for the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, buy a ticket for the Christmas Brunch……….or just need someone to listen for a minute – come see me!

Do I have a typical day?  Not really….but after 5 years here in the atrium I’m not sure what typical even is anymore!  I never know when Nic will grab me to help her move a file cabinet or hold a piece of furniture she’s drilling!

What do I love most about my job?  Many things……little toothy grins from young patients, the fabulous people here from all walks of life and different ethnicities, the knowledge I’ve gained from my peers and the utter amazement at what everyone  accomplishes here in a day’s work.    Oh, and another thing I really like is when Nic and I set up the sound equipment for a MICH or CHF function and she says “Deb, can you test the mike?” and I get to sing!!
