Dr. Marc Del Bigio, MICH scientist and neuropathologist at the Health Sciences Centre, was recently presented the 2011 Beamish Award for his research to study mechanisms of stroke in premature infants entitled “Periventricular Hemorrhage in Immature Brain”

This is a continuation of work conducted over many years in MICH, which led to publication in the prestigious journal Brain of the 2011 article titled “Cell proliferation in human ganglionic eminence and suppression after prematurity-associated haemorrhage”
